Bankerman went to the bridge this morning wearing his #8 Dale Earnhardt coat. He was 14 1/2 years young. This guy was content to lay on the futon all day, occassionally gettng up for a drink of water or to ask to go outside.
He love Miss Beryl's coats. He didn't care which one he had on, the Reese's Cup, the pink one or the purple one. He loved his #8 coat the most. I'm so glad she gave me 2 of them so he wouldn't know which one he had on.
He was a very quiet fellow. I got him as a "foster" when he was brought to MSGAO. He had raced in Florida & been adopted out by Birmingham. The girl who adopted him had moved to Memphis, but couldn't find a place to live that would allow large dogs, so she brought him to the adoption kennel. I met him & fell in love. He had such a sweet soul. Such loving eyes.
I will miss you Bankerman, but you will never be forgotten. You are in my heart forever.

When I was updating my signature, I just realized I had been with Bankerman for 10 years.
I had gone with the director of the adoption kennel to get Picadilly in 2001. He died 4 months later of old age also. Picadilly was 13 when I got him. About a month or 2 later, Banker came in to the adoption kennel & my friend Tina had noticed how much Picadilly & Banker looked alike & couldn't wait for me to get there to see Bankerman.
Its never easy to let one go, whether its from old age or from sickness.

Hilda I am sorry for your loss. When I saw this, I said oh no. I am sure Bankerman is looking down and watching you.

Run free sweetie.

So sorry for your loss, Hilda. He lived to be a good age for a greyhound.

Run free, Bankerman.

Thinking of you Hilda, Bankerman is at peace now. It is always worse for those of us left behind.

Run free, Bankerman.
