I apologize for being absent from the forum. I shall sadly explain.

This June both my loves went peacefully to the bridge. First Rosie which was expected, then my Dozer , It appears he could not stand the loss of Rosie . My beloved Rosie Passed quietly and peacefully June first. She would have been 12 this September. My Dozer was not the same after Rose left us he was with me and then gone the next morning. I am at a loss of words to explain or understand my only comfort is Knowing they a re together. I just wish they did not leave me alone.

I am sorry for your losses. Sending you good thoughts and prayers during this sad time. Run free pups.

I'm soooooo sorry for your loss. It must have been devastating to lose the two of them at once, but they are together at The Bridge and it's so nice that Dozer loved Rosie so much.

Thank you.

It is still difficult to be with out them, I can not dwell on the overwhelming sadness. But I can smile at the memories now, I remember the Joy the brought into our lives.

Things are better now, I can smile when I think of them. My quiet shy Rosie and adorable Goofy Dozer. I will always miss them. Thank you all for your kind replies.

you are welcome

Are you getting another one?

Posted by: Pipi5 Sep 3 2012, 12:00 PM I'm so sorry you went thru this. I'm glad you can now smile when you think of them. I honestly finding myself laughing when I think of Pipi-Francine, she was so crazy. Especially right now, I've had 4 different fosters who the first thing they do when they go out the back door is lay down in the wadding pool, just like she did.

Thank you so much everyone, it really means a lot that all of you understand.
Beryl I do not plan on getting another hound. The lose was devastating not only to me but my kids. I can not think about doing that again .

Pipi5, you made me giggle! Dozer loved to play in the water.

Same with us Liz. When all our greys are passed, we aren't replacing either. It's too hard and sad. This goes for our cats too.

I can understand you loss but I would have to think twice if I lost either Hershey or Penske maybe foster instead

Posted by: Liz Sep 19 2012, 01:41 AM
Fostering is a good thing, but my kids are still to young to understand. They as kids do tend to believe puppies last forever. (Don't we all.) I just can not think about that now, they all still talk about/ miss them to much. (Poor little loves.)

D2P you are correct Rosie and Dozer can not be replaced. Someday their names can be added to, but never replaced.

Kids sometimes do not understand and it takes a lot of explaining

I don't believe in replacing just adding I have and even will not replace the pups I had to give up because of ill health

btw Penske has to be seen by the vet for a lump in his side - fingers crossed it is not the big C

Posted by: dad2paisley Oct 4 2012, 01:32 PM
I hope it not the big C.

Posted by: Beryl Oct 4 2012, 02:44 PM
nope not the big C but a fatty tumor

Posted by: Liz Oct 5 2012, 01:22 AM
Beryl I am so relieved it is a fatty tumor, instead of the dreaded C.

It was a nurse that found it and said it felt like a mass, I was in a panic

Off to therapy this am

Beryl I am thinking about you, I hope you and your hounds are well.

Hershey & Penske are well and I am slowly recovering from a compound fractured wrist
Thank you for asking - think of you also
