| With very sad heart tonight we had to let Lincoln go to the bridge. His Mommy and Daddy were at his side as he went. Lincoln is now free of all pain.
We did all we could for our sweet boy, but God wanted him.
I am sure Lincoln is running and playing at the Bridge. I am sure he is with Zeus and our Annie playing.
We are glad we had you these great 5 years. You went with us many places, traveled many miles with us. You went to Florida, Dewey, Gettysburg, New Jersey, Ohio and many more. You got to meet lots of other greyhounds, many thousands of people, got lots of hugs and loving from them and from us.
We will remember all the great times we had together. You will never be
Run free Lincoln, until we meet again. We love you so much. I am sure you will be watching us from above.

| After a storm comes a rainbow. The storm is over and I run on clouds, slide on rainbows and send stars for you to find me. Look for the sparkle and find my love. We are never apart.
Some where........ over the rainbow....... greyhounds run............
Run free sweet Lincoln. I know your family here will honor the love you shared by loving others.

| I am so sorry that Lincoln is now at the Bridge
Run free and race the wind Lincoln
The Spirit Of A Greyhound
I was standing on a hillside in a field of blowing wheat,
and the spirit of a Greyhound was lying at my feet.
He looked at me with kind dark eyes, ancient wisdom shining through.
in the essence of his being, I saw the love there too.
His mind did lock upon my heart as I stood there on that day,
and he told me of this story about a place so far away.
As I stood upon that hillside in a field of blowing wheat,
in a twinkling of a second his spirit left my feet.
His tale did put my heart at ease, all my fears did fade away
about what lay ahead of me on another distant day.
"I live among God's creatures now in the heavens of your mind,
so do not grieve for me, my friend as I am with my kind.
My collar is a rainbow's hue, my leash a shooting star.
my boundaries are the Milky Way where I sparkle from afar.
There are no pens or kennels here for I am not confined,
but I'm free to roam God's heavens among the Greyhound kind.
I nap the day on a snowy cloud gentle breezes rocking me,
and dream the dreams of earthlings, and how it used to be.
The trees are full of liver treats, and tennis balls abound,
and milk bones line the walkways just waiting to be found.
There even is a ring set up, the grass all lush and green;
and everyone who gaits around becomes the Best of Breed.
For we're all winners in this place; we have no faults, you see.
and God passes out those ribbons to each one, even me.
I drink from waters laced with gold, my world a beauty to behold;
and wise old dogs do form my pride to amble at my very side.
At night I sleep in angel's arms, her wings protecting me,
and moonbeams dance about us as stardust falls on thee.
So when your life on earth is spent and you stand at Heaven's gate,
have no fear of loneliness-- for here, you know, I wait."

|With all the trips you made to the vet I so hoped that the doctors would find out what was wrong and take care of the problem....|

|I know and with all the blood tests etc. His body just didn't except the transfusions, meds. They say some dogs will get over this once they get the meds, and some that won't . Lincoln didn't. He had a few good days but that's about all. We were waiting on some new blood test results, maybe they will tell us more when they come back.|

| Oh Tom, I've never understood, nor tried to, why some are taken from us so young. I know your hearts are hurting and there is an empty spot in the house that just feels wrong. Know that Marian and I are thinking of you and Trish during this sadness in your heart.

| Tom, I haven't been on the computer since 4 on Friday and I write this with tears in my eyes. I am so sorry you had to make the ultimate decision and let Lincoln cross over the bridge. You, and everybody involved in his treatment did all you could for him, unfortunately it just wasn't meant to be. Lincoln was definitely loved and gave love in return. We all know he will be missed but he is running and playing free with all that have crossed before him.

| D2P and M2P. I am sorry for your loss. I know you did all you could to get Lincoln well. Sometimes God has other plans for both Lincoln and for you even though he was taken away from you in such a short time. Lincoln is now free of pain. You guys spoil and treat all your animals well. As your friend, I am saying some prayers for you all to heal the pain. It is fine to grieve and cry.
Remember all the good times.
Run free sweet Lincoln.

Did you ever get a diagnosis?

| Lincoln is home. I let all the pups smell the box. They all looked to me to recognize the smell. Bear sniffed the box and then went crazy playing with his toys and running and jumping up and down the house with the toy.
I put Lincoln on our mantle in his own spot next to Zeus and Annie. He is up there with our other animals that passed as well.
