| Spent the day in Tallahassee talking with the Senator & sat thru to committee meeting. I'll rest easier once this session is over, till then we should remain vigilante.

You know Grey2K won't rest. Since I don't live in FL, which Senators do we have to watch and keep an eye on? How much longer is this session?

| They are off next week for Easter (?) then in session again. My guess is Sach & G2k will use that time to work on another amendment and try to add it to the injury amendment or some other amendment. Most of the time was spent with the amendment to the amendment. Watch the video of the meeting, it's 1:25 hour, watch the very end when Sen. Lee speaks.
There was about 50 "dog people" at the Capital building talking with Sen & Reps before and after the committee meeting. ONLY the lobbyist got to speak yesterday,,,,,,, they (the Senators) ran the clock out then voted!
again WATCH the video!! The FGA Lobbyists did a good job yesterday!

| I have to watch the video.
What does Sachs get out of it? I heard she is a Grey2K supporter. Sen Lee, I heard might be against us?

|Sen Lee's comments at the end could be misinterpret, you have to watch the hearing to see why he made his comments at the end. It's NOT easy or enjoyable to watch it's even confusing at times but it will help you understand what happened.|

| They snuck in an ammendment for vote today.
HELP NEEDED! We need folks to call Appropriations Committee members and ask them to VOTE NO on the Florida SB 742 and amendment barcode 576668. This bill goes to Committee at 9am tomorrow!! Senator Sobel has filed an amendment today to decouple greyhound racing from the FL Laws governing pari-mutuels, and segregate the greyhounds from other permits, like horse-racing. This is the amendment drafted in conjunction w/Grey2k. This amendment not only decouples greyhound racing, it also DECREASES funding for greyhound adoption! Yes, decreases funding for adoption by removing the State requirement for tracks to have "Charity Days" where the proceeds go to greyhound adoption. This will decrease adoption monies by THOUSANDS. Decoupling will allow greyhound tracks to make more money, because they can operate like an OTB and not have to share prize-money with greyhound owners, because they will be making money off another track's races (like Wheeling or Southland). Please call Committee members and ask them to vote NO on SB 742 and related Sobel amendment. Tell the Committee members that the true fiscal viability of greyhound racing cannot be assessed until an economic impact study is done on Advanced Deposit Wagering (ADW), which allows millions of dollars wagered on Florida racing to leave Florida on an annual basis, and those monies are not contributed to the FL economy!

|The Decoupling amendment wasn't germane to the Injury amendment, the injury reporting amendment passed the Senate committee.|
