| A race dog in Australia this week got a little distracted during a race.
A real hare ran onto the greyhound racing track, confusing the dogs and forcing them to choose between chasing their regular fake target or the real animal.
The bizarre incident happened at a racecourse on Monday night.
As the dogs went around a bend, a large hare ran onto the racetrack.
Greyhound number four, known as "Ginny Lou" left the track to chase the hare instead of the lure, which is an artificial hare.
Race officials scratched the race and returned $28,500 to people who had placed bets.

|maybe Last March in OPKC, I saw a cat run from the infield grass onto the track during a race and boy did the cat jump high over the fence to get out. It escaped. Luckily none of the racers went for it.|
