We will be starting a fundraiser for Thea on our store site. Here is her story. You can also choose to help her directly.

Below is the newsletter that was sent out to alert Greyhound Rescue and Rehab people of Thea's plight. Feel free to forward to whoever wants it!

Also, here's Greyhound Rescue and Rehab's website. Christine can be contacted through the website so people know this is legit:

Finally, here's the address of the ER Vet that treated Thea:

Special Notice

Greyhound girlie Thea will be 10 years old in November. She was adopted by her mom Deborah Mann 6 years ago and they were quite a team volunteering at meet & greets to help other greyhounds find homes.

A few years back, Deborah & Thea moved to the Chicago area, but even though they were no longer volunteering for GRR, they continued their efforts to promote greyhound adoption.

Last week, Thea jumped through the screen in the window of Deborah's second story apartment. We'll never know for sure but maybe the wind spooked her. She was found on the sidewalk by a mailman who called the police. Deborah & Thea are lucky to live in this small suburban town. The police rushed Thea to the Emergency Veterinary Hospital where it was determined that both her front legs were broken.

She was easily identified by the tags on her collar and the vets were able to reach Deb who was distraught but agreed to do anything to help Thea.

Thea has had surgery twice in the past week and a half. Both legs have been repaired. She will be having bandage changes daily for the next week or so but her spirits are good! She's eating and starting to get used to the bulky casts on both front legs.

The medical bills are already at $9000 and rising. This was an extraordinary & catastrophic accident, however, Thea is a strong girl and the vets are very encouraged by how well she's doing so far.

We have started a "chip in" to help Deborah pay for the medical expenses. Whether it's $1 or $100, please "chip in" for a GRRer in need. Just click on the link to make your donation.

Thanks for your support.
For the hounds,
Christine Johnson

Thank you Beryl. I have some items of yours up and more to go up. Just let me know what items you would like to go to who or if you would like a buyers' choice - so they can choose who to help.

We hope to be starting another fundraiser for a greyhound group in Ohio soon too.! We just need to get the word out and get more buyers!
