Shaka, a 7 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback, was adopted from GBHS on April 20, and escaped from his fence that same evening. He was wearing a black collar with yellow Home Again tag & rabies tag, a short green leash may still be attached. He is scared and unfamiliar with the area. Shaka has been spotted several times--his new home is near Brookwood Baptist Church and he has been spotted at the intersection of North Woodridge & Woodvale, and most recently up the hill on River Oaks Rd. If you have any information at all, please call the owners at 541-7044 or the GBHS at 942-1211. His family is devastated and we really want to bring him home safely.

Sun, 8 May 2011 Just had a phone call and spotting of Shaka from Friday morning. He was near the soccer fields in Cahaba Heights near Myra's BBQ. I just put a sign up there today. They are letting ralph know and will look again too. They are big volunteers with the humane society. -stacey

Last email: Nothing worth reporting. Last sighting was a few days ago. Collar and leash still attached. Reported to be "very, very thin." A couple of the feeding stations were empty, but they didn't put out the flour so they didn't know to try to read tracks to see if it was a dog or a raccoon eating the food.
