The Southeastern Greyhound Club has announced its Fall lure coursing meeting dates. The 14th running of the Fullerton Cup will be held October 23 - 24 at Bear Creek Farm near Moreland, Georgia. Judging the meeting will be open field coursing judge Jason Hyska of Texas.

SEGC will host the 2nd running of the Christmas Cup on Dec. 18 - 19 at Chattahoochee Hills Farm near Fairburn, Georgia. The judges will be Mike Ferris and Dana Jensen.

SEGC's lure coursing program has as it goals the testing of all the coursing skills of sighthounds with all available safety enhancements and showing good sport to all our entrants. Our emphasis is on the competition between the dogs on the field, not between their owners on paper.
Here are some of the features of our program:

* We run our meetings on the biggest, safest farm fields we can find. We use a variety of fields, offering four trial weekends at three different venues, two of which offer multiple fields. Your dogs won't get stale and course-wise at SEGC trials.

*These big fields allow us to offer big, galloping course plans that are both safer and test all the coursing skills, first and foremost among them speed and agility.

*We use drag lure, which offers enhanced safety and livelier lure action for better sport on the field.

*We offer the NLCC-sanctioned brace elimination format, which provides the excitement of head-to-head competition and the increased safety of running in pairs instead of trios.

*We use the point tally scoring format, by which your dog is scored objectively turn-by-turn, as coursing dogs have been scored for centuries, rather than by subjective categories.

* We run our trials only in cool or cold weather, which is safer for hard-running sighthounds and enhances their performance.

*We have the lowest lure coursing entry fees in the Southeast and possibly the country -- $14/$11/$8.

*We offer great prizes and awards -- a perpetual trophy for each weekend of meetings, cash prizes for breed winners, rosettes for all placements, and a stuffy toy for each placing dog.

*For those who like titles, we are proud to offer the toughest title in lure coursing. The Grand Field Champion title, based on winning percentage -- the gold standard of performance evaluation -- is an undisputable benchmark of excellence. This is not a run-until-you-get-it title !

*SEGC trials feature amenities like inexpensive, delicious lunches on the field, a PA system to keep you informed on the progress of the courses, and a screened paddock canopy from which to watch the courses while keeping your dog out of sight of the lure.

So if you're tired of running your dogs on the same small fields weekend after weekend, come run with SEGC and experience the many differences offered by our program and NLCC-sanctioned lure meetings ! We guarantee that you won't regret it.
