Hiya, all. :)

I'm Xan, whom some of you may already know, but, this is supposed to be a self-intro, so here goes.

I'm a busy pet artist, living with my 3 greys (Brilly, Wabi and Pogo), 3 aging cats, and loving hubby in northwest Washington state. Where it's finally our version of summer, thank goodness!

Lately, I've been working on a series of paintings of silken windhounds, which are pretty little sighthounds, smaller than greys, but with silky fur rather like a borzoi. You can see what's up with the series on, if you're interested.

After I get back from Dewey in October, I plan to do another benefit portrait marathon, which is always a lot of fun.

I don't want to sound like a commercial, but my dogs, cats and art are pretty much my life, these days! :P

For those of you who don't know my dogs, here's a little about them.
Brilly, who just turned 9, is a gentle, easy-going blue fawn guy. He was our easy introduction to greyhounds. He has a mind of his own, but he's not pushy about it. He's a huge chatterer, clacking away like a castanet to wake us up in the morning, or whenever he's excited about anything.

Next came Wabi, who is 7 1/2. She came to us at just a year old, a bent up little thing with multiple deformities, one leg permanently knuckled under and used more as a kickstand, and her face shortened and curved, with a cute underbite, and buggy eyes. No one was sure how long she'd live, but no one could resist her mischievous charm! After her first year with us, and the usual worming issues, some giardia, puppy business involving eating socks, she's been the most care-free of our pets! My vets don't even know who she is!

Then came Pogo. Because he got chomped on the snoot as a tiny puppy, his face is a little similar to Wabi's, which prompted a few people to bring him to my attention, and the rest is history. He's now 6, and a muscley bouncer he is! He had a rough time, becoming dog aggressive in his second year, and attacking Brilly repeatedly, to the point we had to consider rehoming him for Brilly's safety and quality of life. We hunkered down, though, and with management and lots of positive training, he's become my best trained hound, generally safe, and lots calmer. He and Wabi are often tangled up together on the floor. He snores like an old drunk, but I love him to pieces!

So, that's us! Was that long enough? biggrin.gif
