I should open a fitness center for dogs, Thurles gets Smiley & who ever the foster is for the time outside in the afternoons & they do laps. Its beautiful here this week, low 80's. This afternoon, the boys took off running around the yard before they came in the house to cool off.
Actually Smiley started it:

Me too. They were out there early this morning while it was still cool outside. Lawn guy is here right now, so everyone is inside cooling off. They love their backyard.

How AWESOME is that!!! His racing name is Kt's Thurles. The entire litter was named after cities in Ireland. His owner/breeder is Keith Thomas who is from Scotland!
The rest of the litter was Mullingar, Shelbourne & Tralee. Mullingar raced almost as many races as Thurles, both ran passed 5 yrs old. Shelbourne & Tralee didn't have long careers.
I met someone else not long ago in dog racing from Thurles Ireland.

Great, beats calling them after football players as seems to be the trend over here. Thurles has one of the toughest tracks in Ireland, if you can do a run around it, it will stand up at any track and your dog will improve a tonne.

I heard that about the track in Thurles. Maybe his breeder was seeing into the future with Thurles.
Thurles raced only at Southland, 234 starts, no scratches, no injuries. Southland is a hard track to race for some dogs. We let Thurles race one Grade D race & retired him. His birthday is September 11 and he raced passed his 5th birthday until November 21st.
