| Yep, the hauler left Dubuque about 4:30 CST & is headed this way. ETA 2am. Erin send me some pictures on Facebook. Needless to say I couldn't go to sleep if I wanted to.
Here's some pix she sent me of their goodbye!
The last bootie scratch in Iowa:

| Well we finally got home about 4:30, he got settled in about 5 and we slept until 7:30 and again until 11:30. I let him & Thurles out, its so hot outside we didn't stay out long. Here's some pictures I took this morning.
As you can see, Thurles is being a great big brother to Ethan.

| He was alittle anxious when we first got home. It was almost 5am and it was dark. When he left DB it was 4:30 and light outside. Probably 10 degrees cooler as far as muggy is concerned. He's helping me type right now. I think we're fixing to go make some lunch & lay low since its too hot to do anything.
He did not pay any attention to the pool by the way.
Just after I wrote that, I went outside with them later & he stood in the pool, of course the camera was inside. But I did see this last night. He discovered the futon. He loves it.

| Several weeks later & he is a dream come true. He is so sweet, so innocent. If I fuss at him about anything like getting in a hurry to go outside....he lays his ears back as if to say I'm sorry.
He gets along great with everyone. He's completely cat safe. Which meeting Fiona as you open the door at 5am will make anyone cat safe.
He's learned the length of the yard so he's got to where he does zoomies pretty well. He had everyone running good the other night & he's found the exit into the crepe myrtles like Gogh used to do. That melted my heart. I have yet to hear him bark.
He went to the vet last weekend, he's losing hair in spots. She gave him an itchy shot & some weekly medicated shampoo which helps. I'm hoping the hair starts back soon. I never see him scratching so I don't know if maybe it was the sand at the kennel in Florida or the stress of moving back to Dubuque and then here or what. He's gained 3 lbs since retiring also.
He goes a week from today to be altered & chipped.
And he's got more collars than I have shoes.
For his home coming Diane sent him some BurpDog biscuits!
He thoroughly enjoys the fun runs in the backyard
He's looking good. I think he likes retirement:
Have not seen him roach yet.

| Ethan went for his surgery this morning. He was all happy to get to ride in the car. He started whimpering as we got closer, so he knew where he was. While we were standing in line, a brown chiahuahua came in, Ethan was ready for breakfast....so I imagine he's not small dog safe, although he's completely cat safe. He kept wanting to go back & see the little brown doggie. Of course the owner was oblivious of the large black greyhound with the arched neck staring at her little dog sitting on the floor.
He'll have his surgery & get microchipped today along with my foster dog Stretch, then I'll pick both of them up tomorrow afternoon after work.
I sure miss him.
