| I'm not sure if this has been discussed or not but figured post it. We've adopted a couple a GHs that have had a ton of gunk on their teeth, some had their teeth clean while the were in for Spay/Neuter. I known that good trainers "bone" the kennel on a regular basis along with scraping to keep teeth clean.
Anyway we purchase a case of frozen beef shank bones, about 20 pounds of bones. We got our bones from the same guy that supplies ground beef for a GH farm. I would think a local butcher would be a good source for beef bones. They range from about 4" to maybe 8" long with just a tad of meat on them. We separate one GH from the pack and put that one in a fenced area away from the rest with the bone. Each GH gets about a hour with the bone to gnaw, lick and gnaw some more. When they tire of gnawing we put the bone in a zip lock bag and store in the frig. Giving a GH a bone is MESSY. The area we use is the front yard which is fenced and grassy. If you use a crate be prepared to clean the crate when they're finished.
CAUTION - Do Not give bones unless the GHs are in crates or separated!!!! They WILL fight over bones!!!! Also use CAUTION when taking a bone away!!!!
