Monday we had our boy Navy neutered, normal stuff for a adopted GH. Navy was cryptorchid, so we knew the procedure would be a little more involved then then a normal neuter. Doc called to let us know we could pick our boy after 5pm, he also let us know he had to search for the internal testicle. They found it had wrapped around his blatter and it was under his kidney!!!!! We got him home and settled in for the evening, he slept peacefully all night.

Tues was a day I normally take some of the guys & gals to the track,,,,,, guess who wants to go to the track ???? Yep Navy is walking around stiff & sore still wanting to go chase the bunny. WOW it hurts just looking at his belly !!!!:emo-ekk:

This morning he got up to go out, on the way he grabs a ball and wants to play!!!!! It is going to a REAL challenge to keep him calm and walk him on a leash for 10 days.:banghead:

Update -

The staples have been remove form Navy's belly, the site is healing very well.

During his recoup Navy was bitten by a spider, not good at all. The venom caused the skin to die, I'll spare all the nasty details. (It's a long ugly tale) He is still being kept in a crate and wearing a E collar to prevent him licking & chewing on the drain tube and stiches. The drain tube was removed yesterday, the Vet is VERY pleased with the healing. He still has a few stitches that should come out next week. We still have to leash walk him and keep him in a crate for another week.
I been walking him in the evenings around the sprint field to help prevent muscle loss, it helps his mental attitude.
IF,,,IF he continues to heal at the same rate we'll allow him to free roam the sprint field next week. Then I hope to start reconditioning him in two weeks but it all depends on his healing progress......

Update-

Navy continues to heal well, we plan cut and pull the remaining stitches today. :D He's at that point where he wants to be more active but we still have to restrict his activities for a little longer. I'm so afraid he will over do it when he's able to free roam in he sprint field.

Here he is being silly with one of his toys,,,,,

Update-

Navy went to the Vet this morning to remove the LAST stitch, the pesky one we decided was best to have the Doc remove. Doc is pleased with his healing progress, he released Navy to free roam with the rest of the pack. :D :D :D
If he continues to heal we'll start conditioning him with some short sprints next week. :cheer:

GO NAVY

Our boy "Navy" relaxing after a romp in the sprint field. We keep a shirt on him to protect the bald area on his back for getting sun burned. Navy says

"Life is GOOD"
